Who are we and What do we do? Bodybar offers all-natural and organic skincare that do not contain any harmful chemicals. We believe that if the skincare is not “good enough to eat” as in safe enough to eat, it’s not good enough for your skin because your skin is the body’s largest organ. It is capable of absorbing whatever you put on it. On a daily basis, people are slathering on a huge amounts of chemicals on their bodies without even realising it. We believe in keeping prices affordable so that everyone can opt for natural & organic products. With Bodybar, we try to create an awareness for people to think about what they put onto their skins on a daily basis. If you won’t put it in your mouth, why would you put it onto your skin? Or your babies’ skin? The skin is really the body's largest organ. If you don't understand the ingredients, should you be putting it onto your skin? Chemicals in skin care are mostly unnecessarily and are potentially harmful so why take the risk when affordable alternatives are available. We encourage everyone to read the labels and understand what it all means. How do we select our products and Why is it so affordable? We select our products based on our “good enough to eat” policy (as in safe enough to eat). This means skin care which has no artificial fragrance or colour, no harmful preservatives, no harsh detergents such as SLS, no petrochemicals such as mineral oil or any other petroleum by-products and no animal cruelty. In reality we vet through a lot more than that! In short, we try to go for products with no synthetic chemicals at all. If ever there are any synthetic ingredients (an exception rather than the norm!), it is usually in very low concentrations and we check that it is not anything that is suspected to be toxic. We follow guidelines from the Environmental Working Guide's (Safe) Cosmetic Database, a non-proft/non-government organisation that provides independent research on skin care safety. We also look for brands or products that work, of course! We personally test every single product that we sell paying special attention to product efficacy, amongst other things. In addition to that, we select brands who invest their money back into product development rather than into advertising. These brands are more likely to be affordable without sacrificing product quality. We believe it is what's inside that matter! We also try to bring in products that are sellabe, taking in consideration the climate and culture of this region (South East Asia). Keeping a tight inventory allows us to keep costs low and therefore keep the prices low. This is why you may not see the entire product range for a particular brand (we hope you'll understand).
